To coincide with the State of
Origin games on the weekend the SANFL and Westar Rules (formerly
WAFL), also held a state game.
For the first half WA held the
upper hand with their running game and attack on the ball.
In the third
term SA took the momentum with Ports Brian Beinke coming onto
the ground and kicking 4 goals.
In time on of the final term,
the game was still anyones with WA 6 points behind before Trent
Mills (South Adelaide) kicked 3 quick goals to enable SA to run
out easy winners by 45 points.
