Comments

At Adelaide Oval on Friday night a crowd of 11,558 saw a determined Sturt outfit crush Port Adelaide. Sturt had winners all over the ground and the winning margin of 20 points doesn't show the overall dominance the Double Blues had.  Sturt lead by ruckman Simon Feast hassled and harrassed Port all night, and held back a late surge by Port in the final quarter to run out winners.

At Noarlunga it was South who held out in a low scoring game.  The first 3 quarters were scrappy with neither side able to take control of the game.  The last quarter started with South 12 points in front and when Norwood goaled at the 3 minute mark things were looking good for the Legs. But the Panther players had other ideas and while being kept scoreless in the final quarter held on to win the game by 5 points.

A great last half from Centrals gave them a big 59 points win over a disappointing North.  At the half time break Centrals led by 3 points before coming out and kicking 11 goals to 3 to help Scott Lee celebrate his 200th game in style.  After the match North coach, Chris McDermott, blasted his players lack of commitment, stated the "the attitude at the football club at the moment is deplorable" and predicted big changes in the side for next week.

A brilliant 12 goals to 3 second half from the Eagles saw them run out winners over Glenelg by 65 points.  With the Eagles Chris Kluzek kicking 7 goals the Eagles easily outplayed the Tigers who fell down in attack.  The win by the Eagles sees them sitting in 2nd place one game clear of Centrals, Port, West and Norwood.
