Comments

After losing their past 3 games the Magpies showed they are back in business by handing the Eagles a 47 point thrashing.  The Eagles started strongly but as the game went on Port's attack on the ball and body caused the Eagle players to fumble and lose direction.  The Eagles final score of 5.15 was mainly due to the harrasing and pressure put on by the Magpie defence, which caused the Eagle forwards to take low percentage shots at goal from outside the 50m mark.

At Norwood Oval the Redlegs started strongly and kicked the first 3 goals before West scored.  The Bloods hit back in the 3rd quarter and early in the final quarter hit the lead for the first time.  The lead then changed 3 times and it was inspirational play by Norwood's Garry McIntosh in the final quarter that helped the Legs to their 6 point victory.

The first half at Adelaide Oval was all the Roosters and should have nailed the Panthers if it wasn't for the their bad kicking.  After the main break though it was a different South outfit as they kept North to 1 goal while kicking 12 to run out winners by 36 points.
