This weeks round started off on Friday night at Norwood Oval. The game was played in appalling conditions with heavy rain falling all through the game. The rain while keeping the final score low didn't lower the standard of the game as both sides fought it out in a hard and tough match. After the first quarter Sturt were kept goalless but were never out of the game. In the end though it was Sturts lack of scoring oportunities and Norwood's two goals in 30 seconds in the third term that enabled Norwood to win by 8 points.
From the first bounce Centrals dominated the game at Elizabeth Oval. The Doggies had winners all over the ground as they systematically walked all over a disapointing Magpie outfit. Williams, Port's coach, said after the game "It was pathetic" and "They wanted the ball more and made our guys look ordinary (and) if we had winner you'd be pretty good to find him ... it was disgusting".
After losing 4 games in a row, the Bloods held off a determined South to win by 6 points. The first half was fairly even with no side able to gain an advantage. In the third term West threatened to run away with the game but South managed to stay in touch. In the final quarter the Panthers closed to within 3 points but West managed to steady and ran out winners by 6 points.
At Football Park, the Roosters started strong and kicked three goals in the first quarter despite going against a strong wind. North never looked back and kicked away from Glenelg to win by 27 points. After the match a devastated Glenelg coach, Tony McGuinness, stated that the Bays need to improve in all areas and that he will be looking at altering the playing list.
