Comments

During the first half at the Elizabeth Oval, Sturt held the upper hand but didn't make it show on the scoreboard.   That all changed during the third term when the Blues kicked 5 goals in six minutes.  After the match Sturt coach, Phil Carman was very pleased with his sides performance while Centrals Peter Jonas was still locked away with the match committee 30 minutes after the match.

It was a tight first half at Prospect Oval with neither side able to gain an advantage.  In the third quarter Norwood kicked away and held a 26 point lead at the last break.  The Roosters then hit back in the
final quarter but in the end Norwood hung on to win by 5 points.

At Noarlunga Oval South had first use of the strong wind but due to poor kicking and Ports use of a man loose in defence failed to capitalise. In the second term Port managed to score two goals and went into the main break with a 2 point lead.  During the third term South took control of the game kicking 5.7 to Ports 1.3.  In the last quarter Port kicked to within 11 points before South settled and ran out winners by 18 points.

West jumped into third spot with a convincing 26 point win over the Eagles at Richmond Oval.  With full forward Adam Richardson kicking 6 goals the Bloods led all day and never looked threatened.
