The Eagles led for most of the day before late goals to the Double Blues saw Sturt scrape home by 2 points. Ten minutes into the final quarter saw the Eagles leading by 23 points before Sturt kicked 5 of the last 6 goals to see them take the lead and the match. The Eagles must now beat Norwood at the Parade next week to have any chance of making the finals.

At Alberton Oval it was Port who showed they still are premiership contenders with a convincing demolition of Norwood by 60 points. At the 6 minute mark of the 2nd term Port were out to a massive 50 point lead before Norwood regrouped and kicked the last 4 goals of the quarter. After the main break Port came out and kicked the next 4 goals to stop any chance of a Norwood comeback.

Led by full forward Adam Richardson, who kicked 8.5 goals, the Bloods had an easy victory over Centrals at Elizabeth Oval. After the match a pleased Micael Taylor (Wests coach) stated "This was the best footy we've played all year". The win by West now puts them into 2nd place while Centrals are hanging onto 5th spot by percentage.

At Glenelg Oval it was South playing for a spot in the finals who kicked the first four goals of the game. Glenelg though wouldn't let up and by half time were in front by 6 points. The second half was all Glenelg as they kicked away from South to score an impressive 57 point win. South are now out of the run for the finals.
