Comments
--------
Well the minor round is now over
and it is Sturt who have finished minor premier (the first time
since 1978) and have taken the Living Health Cup. Sturt
are currently looking as favourites for the premiership, while
both Norwood and West are in a good position. Port have
never won a GF after finishing 4th or 5th while Centrals despite
losing this week (they have just won one game since the end of
July) have just scraped into the five.
The scores were tied at the 17th
minute mark of the first term in the game between the Eagles
and Norwood. Norwood then picked up a gear and took control of
the game. The Eagles managed to out score the Legs in the
final quarter but the damage had already been done and Norwood
easily won by 51 points.
At Propect Oval the Magpies dominated
from the first bounce. At the first break Port were already
45 points in front despite poor kicking for goal.
The next two quarters were fairly even before Port kicked away
again in the final quarter to score a 64 point win.
For the first 3 quarters at Glenelg
Oval the Bays kept with West. In the fourth quarter though
the West players started to get their act together and ran out
34 point winners.
At Adelaide Oval Centrals kept
Sturt goaless in the first quarter. In the second quarter it
was the opposite, with Centrals being kept goaless while Sturt
kicked 3 majors. Centrals then edged out to a 21 point
lead 8 minutes into the 3rd quarter before Sturt hit back to
trail by 4 points at the final break. Sturt then took control
of the game
in the final term and ran out winners by 34 points.
