Melbourne Storm stripped of past Premierships...

Melbourne Storm has been stripped of 2 premierships (2007 and 2009), 3 minor premierships (2007, 2008 and 2009) and cannot win any more points this year. The club will lose all premiership points earned to date in 2010 and also the right to accumulate points going forward in 2010 (League tables will record wins and losses but the club will not be awarded premiership points on the basis of any wins). These measures are effective as of today. There's also monetary considerations…. $500k fine and return all prize money from last 5 years (about $1.1m). Full details available at nrl.com.au.

So what does this mean to your tipping competition? Not much really. As long as Melbourne Storm field a team and play a match, your tippers will get to pick whether they'll win or lose. Your competition is not based on league ladder position so the lack of premiership points is moot. We recommend that you download and install our update and then continue your competition as normal, with your tippers picking if they think the Storm will win or not (though who knows whether Storm will have much motivation). Enter your results as normal and tippers will be awarded points if they picked the Storm game correctly.

We have released an update that will remove any past and future League Ladder points gained by Storm this season.

To install this update, download the file (it's probably best to save it onto your desktop) and run it. After it has run succesfully you can delete the file. Any current League Ladder points will be removed from Storm the next time Results are calculated (or re-calculated).

Yours sincerely,

The Footy Tipping Software Team.
