Surgery!
Yes, my surgery has come and gone. Here are some pictures of me during my stay in hospital.
Having my liquid dinner the night before surgery
Just after waking up & having a shower the morning of surgery
About half an hour before getting onto the gurney to take me into theatre. I'm a bit nervous at this point, but happy!
Just out of the recovery ward. Very happy!
The next day. Happy but tired. It's hard to get to sleep at night, and there is a fair bit of pain at times. Still in the high dependancy ward, waiting for a private room.
Later on the night of day 2, looking happier and I've had my hair put in plaits
Day 3, the Sunday. Feeling more rested. Still in pain at times... bring on the bolas!
Finally got my own room! This is me being moved.
Yes, I know. Not a good look. I'm in a lot of pain here. I've just had the epidural taken out (day 5) and the other pain killers haven't taken effect yet. Just so you know it wasn't all flowers and smiles. It really hurt.
Couple more days on (day 7), getting restless. Thank god for my notebook and it's DVD player!
Day 9, the day after the second procedure. I'm off the drip, the cathiter has been removed and I am mobile! This is just after my first salt bath.
Here I am, on the phone, on the Sunay night
After discharge, staying at Penny's place, my pale face... Another shot to show the reality of the situation.
This is my little invention! My notebook is mounted on my little wooden stand so I can use it whilst lying down. Yes, that's Delphi loaded... hey, leave me alone, I'm a nerd!

Surgery Party!
I had a party to celebrate my upcoming surgery, and a large number of my friends came along.
Penny and Me, conversing
Me, Andrea, Janet (Penny's partner) and Alyshia
My boss, David. In the background, are Ange and Sheridan
The Invincible Brett and his friend Kate
Tiny, barman extraordinaire!
The bar, from a local's (drunken) perspective
Just some of the crowd
John! Behind him is Kenny
Andy and James, friends from the other side of the digital divide
James, Me and Andy
Me in my surgery gown
Ummm... From the back!
